Challenge
The client manages public housing and was running on legacy systems. They needed a Snowflake architecture that would scale, stay governed, and keep its costs predictable enough to budget against.
Solution
We designed a six-layer architecture (Landing, Transient, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Gold Analytics) across two accounts, one production and one not, so that security and cost stay isolated from each other. We set the warehouse naming conventions, the sizing strategy and the cost governance model, then integrated Azure Blob Storage, Power BI and Dataiku for analytics.
Key results
- Scalable 6-layer data architecture designed
- Dual-account strategy for security and cost isolation
- Warehouse naming and sizing conventions established
- Power BI and Dataiku integration for analytics
- DBT-based transformation pipeline architecture
- Cost estimation model for stakeholder budgeting
